Blog Feedback and Learner Response
WWW: An absolute pleasure to have you on board studying
Media Studies. You have really impressed so far with your dedication, passion
and contribution to lessons. Please keep this level of engagement up and will
succeed in getting that A. Another huge credit for pursing a subject you did
not previously study. Your first few blog posts were completed to a good
standard. I was impressed with the first part of your Reading an Image blog
post – the level of analysis and Media terminology you used to analyse the RBK
advert is impressive, considering you have not previously studied Media.
EBI: However, the concern is your missing work – which
suggests a lack of organisation and attention to detail. Reading an Image is
missing your own advert analysis and Reception theory is not posted. I hope
they are in drafts but I shouldn’t have to ask you to post them. I have no
doubts that you have the mind of an A grade A Level student so please address
immediately.
LR: Update your blog to make sure all work is fully completed.
Then, reflect on your work in A Level Media so far. What is your strongest
piece of work? What is your weakest? What specific skills or knowledge do you
need to develop over the rest of the course?
What is your strongest piece of work?
In my opinion my strongest piece of work was my media consumption audit as I answered all of the questions in an incredible amount of detail. I was really able to express my passion for the media industry in this piece of work and really got the chance to discuss my personal media consumption. Nonetheless, this task really got me thinking into the things that I should be doing more of.
What is your weakest?
My weakest piece of work is my reception theory homework as I believe I could have added more detail int m answers. I found this the hardest in terms of learning key terminology.
What specific skills or knowledge do you need to develop over the rest of the course?
I need to develop my time management skills as well as my knowledge on the exam side of the course. This is because I spend too long on one task and then end up not having enough time to complete the rest. I need to also develop my skills in relation to understanding the content as if I understand the content, it makes writing about it that much easier.
